Your campus, your city or something you've actually observed.
If you cite a fact or statistic, make sure it's accurate and mention where it's from.
Small edits can make a big difference.
Choose the one topic that genuinely matters to you.
Don't wait for the last hour.
Don't use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or similar tools to write or substantially draft your entry.
Entries flagged as AI-generated will be disqualified.Don't copy or paraphrase from websites, blogs or articles. Plagiarism means automatic disqualification.
Don't submit a purchased or a group-written entry.
Only the first 500 words will be considered.
Don't send more than one entry. Only one valid entry per participant will count.
Don't include offensive, discriminatory or unrelated political content.

Plastic was designed to make all that we use durable, keep food fresh, ensure medical supplies remain sterile and safe, and make transport efficient through lightweighting. Instead, it led to an environmental crisis. Plastic itself was not the cause. Its disposal was.
